Phaco eye surgery

Under Phaco eye surgery, a phakic intraocular lens or implantable collamer lens is placed inside the eyes. The procedure uses an ultrasonic device to break down the cataract or the cloudy lens through a procedure called phacoemulsification. The procedure, developed as an alternative to the old procedure requiring long incision in the eye and longer hospital stay and post care and recovery time, has been able to reduce the pain involved by limiting the incision for the surgery to a very small length. This procedure also involves smaller cut in the eye thus making the recovery time much smaller than what was in the case of older procedures. This procedure requires monitoring of heart rate and blood pressure despite the fact that the anaesthesia used is a localised one. Improvement in technology ever since it was devised, this kind of surgery has become more and more popular and has gone a step further with the innovation of foldable IOL; the lens that can be inserted inside the eyes through a very small incision.

Nearer home, you can go in for eye surgery in Delhi for the city boasts of some of the best ophthalmologists in India and has become a medical tourism hub for patients from many Asian nations and also world over for comparatively less cost that one has to bear in the entire procedure.
